Privacy Policy

Veloralegal Ltd

1. Who we are

Veloralegal Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy. We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16481937, registered office Jarodale House, 7 Gregory Boulevard, Forest Fields, Nottingham, NG7 6LB, United Kingdom.

For any question about this policy or your personal data, contact us at princemwatela@veloralegal.com.

2. The data we collect

We collect and process the following categories of personal data:

  • Identity and contact data — name, organisation, job title, email address, telephone number, and postal address.
  • Brief data — the information you provide when you submit a brief or otherwise describe work you would like us to carry out.
  • Correspondence data — the content of emails and other messages you send to us and we send to you.
  • Technical data — where you interact with any digital service we operate, limited technical information such as IP address and basic usage information.

We ask that you do not send us special category data or confidential third-party information unless it is necessary for a brief and you are entitled to share it.

3. How we use your data and our lawful basis

We use personal data only where the law allows. Our lawful bases are:

  • Contract — to assess, accept, and deliver a brief, to correspond with you about an engagement, and to invoice and take payment.
  • Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries, to run and secure our business, to keep records, and to engage the independent specialists needed to deliver a brief.
  • Legal obligation — to comply with tax, accounting, and other legal requirements.
  • Consent — where we rely on consent, for example certain marketing, which you may withdraw at any time.

4. Sharing your data

We share personal data only where necessary, and only with:

  • Independent specialists engaged by us to deliver a brief, and only to the extent required for that brief.
  • Service providers who support our business, such as IT, hosting, email, and professional advisers, acting under our instructions.
  • Authorities and regulators where we are required to do so by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

We deliver briefs nationally and internationally. Where a brief requires personal data to be transferred outside the United Kingdom, we take steps to ensure it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.

6. How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including to meet legal, accounting, and reporting requirements. Engagement and financial records are generally retained for a minimum of six years. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

7. How we protect your data

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. Discretion is central to how we work, and we limit access to personal data to those who need it to deliver a brief.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability, in each case subject to the limits set out in the law. To exercise any right, contact princemwatela@veloralegal.com. We will respond within the statutory period.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). We would ask that you raise any concern with us first so we can try to resolve it.

9. Cookies

Any digital service we operate uses only the cookies necessary for it to function and, where applicable, basic analytics. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, and the date at the top shows when it was last revised.
